Prayer doesn’t work

March 6, 2008

And I guess Chuck Norris ain’t so tough.

What I’m trying to say is Mike Huckabee will not be President. Where was his god two nights ago?

PS: I will have more posts up shortly. The baby is finally better and I just need to catch up on my rest.

regardless of what you believe, saying “prayer doesn’t work” is a very broad statement.

over 75% of Americans consider themselves to be some type of Christian. do you really consider the majority of Americans to believe in something that doesn’t work?

Huckabee himself said, “Throughout my life, I’ve found that there are sometimes three possible answers to our prayers–‘Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Not Now.’ I would like to think our prayers were answered with a ‘Not Now.'”

God is always there. how He works isn’t always immediately clear.

    Michael says:
“over 75% of Americans consider themselves to be some type of Christian. do you really consider the majority of Americans to believe in something that doesn’t work?” Maybe the 75% are deluded or just lying.

“A study released in June by the Barna Group, a religious polling firm, found that about 5 million adults in the United States call themselves atheists. The number rises to about 20 million — about one in every 11 Americans — if people who say they have no religious faith or are agnostic (they doubt the existence of a God or a supreme deity) are included.”
It may also be noted that most people who are not religiously inclined are reluctant to state this fact for fear of reprisals from the school regarding their children, the workplace often won’t promote an atheist. Geo. Bush Sr. stated that atheists should not hold jobs
in government and went as far as to say they shouldn’t be considered citizens of the “One Nation Under God”, idea..

“Huckabee himself said, “Throughout my life, I’ve found that there are sometimes three possible answers to our prayers–’Yes,’ ‘No,’ or ‘Not Now.’ I would like to think our prayers were answered with a ‘Not Now.’”

Huckabee, Himself, (the “H” is capitalized for a good reason) also wanted to change the constitution to have religion
foremost in the way it is interpreted. It is this kind of thinking that “if you don’t go with the flow you don’t go anywhere”.
Prayers being answered by a supreme being is completely absurd. The “Yes, No or maybe…concept
is just another statement made by the fundies for the reasons that prayer never works and is a convenient answer to why amputees can’t pray an arm or a leg back in place.
I t would really be a great human accomplishment if the religions of the world would just begin to tell the truth to their deluded followers. This would give them all a chance to live their lives with out the fear of hell if they screw up.
I don’t expect this to happen too soon because the money would stop rolling in for the likes of Benny Hinn, Peter Popof and Pat Robertson, to name a few.

“God is always there. how He works isn’t always immediately clear”.

    The above should read:

“God has never been there or he is constantly on holidays”.
