Merry Saturnalia! (As if there’s another kind)

The WSJ has a great article entitled A Brief History of Christmas. It’s worthy of a read for folks like me who enjoy this kind of stuff.

Added bonus: The article has an illustration by a guy with the best surname ever.

Good article, well written and with very good information. I myself, not being a particularly religious person found it informative without bashing or biasing anyone or anything. What I practice is what it was intended to be; a philosophy, nothing more, nothing less. It’s when people come along and change it that bothers me. Be it years, decades, or even centuries later someone decides that something is not suiting their needs so they go ahead and change it and screw it up for everyone else.

Take some time to research purgatory in the Catholic religion, its a great little story! 😉

Purgatory has been deprecated in favor of keeping people Catholic 🙂
